Mechanical engineering

Our mechanical engineering and process technology department handles patent and utility model applications and represents you in both opposition and revocation and infringement proceedings, particularly in the following technical fields:

  • General mechanical engineering
  • Aerospace engineering
  • Automotive engineering
  • Combustion engines
  • Machine tools
  • Fluid engineering and hydraulic systems
  • Textile machines
  • Electromechanical engineering
  • Control engineering

In the field of mechanical engineering in particular it is vital, in a patent application, not only to describe the prototype with its objective features but also to comprehend the underlying principle.  Only in this way can patent claims of the broadest possible scope be drawn up and bypassing be prevented.

Our engineers in the mechanical engineering department are proficient at reading and creating technical drawings.  These can be “classical” constructional drawings or 3D animated graphics.

We are also aware that a successful strategy in the field of mechanical engineering and process technology demands an interdisciplinary approach in which not only aspects of electrical engineering and electronics need to be considered, but in which chemistry and materials science are also of special importance, particularly in the field of material engineering and development of high-strength plastics.
